Gear Requirements
What adventure motorcycle gear to wear and bring to class, and which boots and tires meet the standard. Protection matters, expensive gear doesn't.
Georgia
Standard and Enhanced Gear
ADV Training outside Idaho uses the standard. Every Idaho class and Sunday School use the enhanced standard.
Bring any bike you'd ride in the dirt; a smaller one is usually easier. Bikes aren't included, but in Idaho you can rent one locally. Borrowing a bike? Fit crash protection first.

Standard Gear
ADV Training outside Idaho
- Full-Face Helmet

Gear Questions
Which Tires Do I Need in Georgia?
At least a 70/30 tire. 90/10 tires aren't allowed in any Georgia class, because the ground can turn to wet clay.
Do I Need Expensive Gear?
No. Protection matters, price doesn't, and many affordable boots and jackets meet the standard. If cost is a concern, get in touch and we'll help you find budget options.
Why Are the Gear Rules Strict?
Slow-speed tip-overs are part of learning. The right boots, tires and protection cut the risk of injury, and insurers, landowners and local rules require them.
What If a Physical Limitation Affects My Gear?
